8th Road to 500: Preparations for the Quincentennial
We are not yet halfway to the completion of the 2021 Quincentennial Commemorations in the Philippines (16 March – 28 October 2021). Join Deputy Speaker Loren Legarda and her co-host Public Historian Xiao Chua in their online program Road to 500: A Philippine Quincentennial Special on 19 April 2021, Monday, 10am. She will discuss with NHCP Chair and NQC Executive Director Rene Escalante the preparations for the milestones while in the midst of the pandemic.

Seeing this post? Curious what this is about? This 2021, we will commemorate the Philippine part in the achievement of science and humankind in circumnavigating the planet for the first time. Central in this commemoration is the 500th anniversary of the Victory at Mactan on 27 April 2021. These and more are collectively known as the 2021 Quincentennial Commemorations in the Philippines by virtue of Executive Order No. 103 (2020). Know more about the event here:
