The National Quincentennial Committee (NQC) has partnered with the University of San Carlos (USC) Museum in managing the Cebuano version of the committee’s website, www.nqc.gov.ph.
Dr. Jose Eleazar Bersales, Director of the USC Museum, will be the chief editor of the Cebuano portal of the website.
Part of the partnership is to translate the basic website contents and details into the Cebuano language. The USC Museum will also generate its own materials such as articles, news, and features in the said language.
Dr. Rene Escalante, Chairperson of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NQC) and concurrently NQC Vice-Chairperson, decided to make the website available at least in three languages: Filipino will be the default language being the National Language, English for the foreigners, and Cebuano as a tribute to the language of the ground zero of the events: the Visayas.
The Cebuano feature of the website will be soon available starting March 2019, in time for the 498th anniversary of the Victory at Mactan on 27 April 2019.
