Mundo Magallanes-Elcano: Fort San Pedro, Cebu City

It is a research-driven project which aims to produce a culminating show in Seville in September 2022 for the 500th anniversary of the completion of the achievement of humanity in circumnavigating the world for the first time (1521-1522). The project will involve various folkdance teachers or choreographers from ten countries along the route of the Magellan-Elcano expedition to showcase unity amidst diversity of humanity. Indigenous dances and rituals which are not Hispanized are preferred. The teachers or choreographers will also have the chance to be our country’s ambassadors/ambassadress of culture as the project will visit ten countries starting this May 2020 in Seville.
