On 14 December 2019, the entire nation will begin the 500-day countdown to 500 years of the victory of our ancestors led by Lapulapu against the Spanish colonizers.  A significant part of the event is the introduction of the theme song and nine other songs embodying the National Quincentennial Commemorations.

The National Quincentennial Committee (NQC) has partnered with PhilPop and the Organisasyon ng mga Pilipinong Mang-aawit (OPM) in coming up with these soundtracks embodying the taste of music of this generation.  The playlist will be identified through the selection of entries from four boot camps: Batangas (27-30 May 2019), Dagupan (22-25 July 2019), Bacolod (23-26 September 2019), and Davao (18-22 November 2019).

No less than National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab will be among the camp masters and trainers.

One of the songs in the playlist will be chosen by the NQC as the official theme song of the National Quincentennial Commemorations. It will be performed during the countdown ceremony.
